As we continue, we’ll cross the majestic 9-kilometer-long Bhupen Hazarika Setu, the longest bridge in India, spanning the Lohit River. The view from the bridge is truly unforgettable. In the evening, we’ll have some free time to relax and unwind, sitting around, sharing stories, and soaking in the serenity of the surroundings. The journey itself promises to be as memorable as the destination.

Today, we set off on an unforgettable journey, driving from Roing to Anini, the heart of Dibang Valley. The road ahead promises an adventure, with every turn offering new, breathtaking views of Arunachal Pradesh’s stunning landscapes. As we drive through scenic routes, we’ll cross the mighty Mayudia Pass and pass through the quaint town of Hunli. The beauty of the journey is as mesmerizing as the destination itself, with the mountains standing tall and majestic around us. As we ascend, the temperature drops, and depending on the time of year, we may be greeted by snow-covered landscapes or even snowfall—especially from December to March, when the region is blanketed in winter’s embrace. Upon arrival at our homestay in Anini, we’ll be greeted with warm local hospitality. The evening will be a time to relax, enjoy a delicious meal, and unwind, soaking in the peace and beauty of this tranquil valley. It’s the perfect end to a day of adventure.

Night Stay: Anini.

A stretch of mountains blanketed in lush grasslands, the Emudu Grasslands hold a distinct charm that captivates all who visit. Exploring this enchanting place is one of the many unforgettable experiences Anini has to offer. The trail takes us through steep ascents, where refreshing breezes greet us and shaded areas provide relief as we hike. The harmony of nature’s beauty unfolds with every step, making it a perfect escape into the wilderness. Next, we journey through the stunning Mathu Valley, where the landscape reveals its true splendor. As we return to our homestay, we’ll immerse ourselves in the rich culture and traditions of the Idu Mishimi tribes who call this region home. It’s a chance to connect with the local community and learn more about the heritage that defines this beautiful corner of Arunachal Pradesh. 

Night Stay: Anini.

Drive into the winter charm of the region, starting with a peaceful village walk that lets you fully embrace the serene beauty of the surroundings. After our exploration, we head to the Dree Afra Campsite for an afternoon of kayaking on the scenic Dri River, where the still waters and surrounding landscape create a perfect setting for adventure and relaxation. As we continue our drive through the Dibang Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, the road will unfold with stunning waterfalls cascading down the hillsides, creating a truly picturesque experience. Our journey will take us all the way to the final roadhead at the Tibet border, offering views that few have the privilege of witnessing. Along the way, we’ll also hike through jungle trails, leading us to the breathtaking Mawu Waterfall—another hidden gem in this lush, untouched region. It’s a day full of discovery, adventure, and a deep immersion in the natural beauty that surrounds us.

Night Stay: Acheso Valley

Today, we have a long journey ahead, so we’ll start early to make the most of the day. I hope your time in the mesmerizing valley has been unforgettable, filled with incredible memories. As we begin our descent, take a moment to soak in the stunning views of the Eastern Himalayas one last time, letting the beauty of the towering peaks leave a lasting impression. We’ll then make our way down to the foothills of Lower Dibang Valley, marking the end of an extraordinary adventure.

Night Stay: Roing

As we begin our journey, you’ll be captivated by the stunning beauty that unfolds around us. The view of the Lohit River and its tributaries from Hawa Camp is nothing short of mesmerizing. Driving along the pristine, winding roads, we make our way to Hayuliang, taking in every moment of this unforgettable journey. Starting in Roing, we’ll explore lush landscapes and immerse ourselves in the rich local culture. From ancient archaeological sites to scenic hill treks, there’s so much to discover. As we continue our drive to Hayuliang, we’ll be treated to breathtaking mountain vistas and vibrant flora, each view more beautiful than the last. Along the way, we’ll experience the warmth of local hospitality and the charm of traditional villages. This trip offers the perfect balance of adventure, culture, and serenity, making it an experience you’ll never forget.

Night Stay: Hayuliang.

Let’s start early, as we embark on a journey through some of the most spectacular roads, leading us to the easternmost reaches of India. Our destination for the day is Dong, a place known for its unique charm. After a satisfying lunch, we’ll begin our hike to Dong Top, where we’ll be among the first in the country to experience the first light of the day. If permission allows, we plan to camp overnight at Dong Top, surrounded by the peaceful solitude of the mountains and the beauty of the dawn. It promises to be a truly unforgettable experience, with the stunning landscape as our backdrop.

Experiencing the first sunlight of India is truly a remarkable moment, and as we travel through the easternmost region of the country, we’re in for even more excitement. Our journey takes us to Kaho and Kibithu, two charming villages that lie at the edge of India’s border. Kaho, nestled near the Indo-Tibetan border, offers a serene escape with its stunning landscapes. As we wander through this picturesque village, we’ll be surrounded by breathtaking views of the hills and valleys. Continuing on to Kibithu, we’ll witness more incredible scenery and explore the significance of this village as one of the easternmost points of India. It’s an experience that blends natural beauty with a deep sense of place and history, leaving us with memories to last a lifetime.

Night Stay: Walong / Namti Hills.

Today, we begin our onward journey, heading towards Namsai, the land of the Tai Khamtis. The road ahead promises to be an unforgettable experience, filled with scenic landscapes and moments that will stay with you long after the journey ends. As we drive through the heart of Northeast India, it’s clear that this region is all about the journey itself—the drive, the sights, and the emotions that come with each twist and turn. Here, it’s not just about reaching the destination, but about soaking in every moment along the way. The winding roads, the lush greenery, and the ever-changing landscapes invite you to slow down and truly experience the essence of this beautiful land. Let’s start our final day early, with a slight detour to visit the famous Golden Pagoda, a serene monastery belonging to the Theravada sect of Buddhism. Its stunning architecture and tranquil ambiance make it a perfect spot to reflect and soak in the beauty of the place. After exploring the pagoda, we’ll continue our drive toward Dibrugarh, where our onward journey begins. We anticipate arriving in Dibrugarh by 5 PM, marking the end of our unforgettable adventure through the Northeast.
